Arthritis
Arthritis, joint pain or joint disease, is the leading cause of disability in America. More than 50 million adults and 300,000 children are suffering from some type of arthritis. Common symptoms include swelling, pain, stiffness, and decreased range of motion. Arthritis can result in pain, inability to perform normal day-to-day activities, and can lead to further joint changes and damage.
Bunions
A bunion is a prominent bump that forms at the joint at the base of your big toe. They commonly develop from an inherited structural deformity and are commonly seen in a flatter foot type. This type of deformity can lead to limited range of motion of the toe and can cause pain during ambulation or when fitting into shoe gear.
Custom orthotics
Custom foot orthotics are designed to align the foot and ankle into the most anatomically efficient position. Foot deformities lead to a variety of issues, but most commonly ankle, knee, hip and lower back pain. Custom inserts are made specifically for your foot type to appropriately control how your foot operates. This can lead to improvement or resolution of the pain. Appropriate control of the way your foot functions can also decrease the wear and tear of the joints over time. No matter your foot type, custom orthotics can help relieve or prevent discomfort and pain.
Flat feet
Flat feet are one of the most common foot types. A flat or flatter foot type can lead to other deformities such as: bunions, hammertoes, midfoot arthritis. It can also lead to other discomfort or pain due to the direction of pressure through the foot during ambulation. This causes a change in the direction of pressure through the ankle, knees, hips and lower back, which can cause discomfort or pain.
Hammertoes
Hammertoe is a deformity where one or both joints of the second, third, fourth or fifth toes begin to bend outside of their normal alignment. Pressure can begin to weigh heavy on the toes as you wear shoes which is where pain and other symptoms develop.
